For years I dreamt of designing a little girls nursery, I have hundreds of pins on my Pinterest page of so many shades of pink & different styles of cribs to choose from. It still feels surreal that I’ve already done that & we just finished transitioning Aleia’s room to a toddler room! How is that even possible?! Where did my tiny little 6 lbs 5 oz go.. oh time really needs to slow down!
When I started planning what I wanted to do with Aleia’s room at first I wanted to completely change it up from Glamorous + Princess to more of a Floral + Fairy theme… but if you know me you know I don’t deal with change very well & logistically, the thought of having to take off floral wall paper later on just didn’t sound fun… plus the brightness of her room is just peaceful so the Glam + Princess theme stays!
It was so bittersweet putting the crib away, Aleia’s Sheep rocker as well as all her little toys but it was so exciting to see her new bed & all her beautiful bedding, the decor & picturing all the new memories she’s going to make & how much she’s going to grow in this room. [*tear]
We decided to get Aleia a Full bed so she can grow with it & for the nights that hubby or I have to spend the night in her room when she’s sick or whenever she needs us. We were gifted both the Full Mattress & pillows from Casper & it is honestly amazing! Her mattress is so comfortable & we love knowing that she has a good mattress with a high quality-luxurious foam for a comfortable rest.
As for Aleia’s headboard, it honestly took me forever to pick one out because there were so many beautiful choices but I ended up picking the Verona Home Kensington Full Bed in White from Bed Bath & Beyond. I love how glamorous & simple it looks! Absolutely timeless.
For bedding, I decided pick from the Monique Lhuiller Collection at Pottery Barn Kids because of how gorgeous their blush pink was. Although it was a bit of a pain getting my hands on them (stalking every PBK in Canada & US to see if they had the whole set I wanted & ended up picking it up from the States) it was SO worth it. I picked the Monique Lhuiller Velvet Pintuck Quilt, Velvet Pintuck Sham, Glitter Tulle Bedskirt, ML Matelasse Duvet Cover & Matelasse Sham & they are absolutely STUNNING. The quality of PBK seriously never disappoints.
To be honest, it was ridiculously hard for me to change the decor of Aleia’s nursery to her Toddler room. As much as I thought that I was going to drastically change the walls, I decided to stick with the same beautiful blush pink colour we had for her nursery but hubby freshened up the walls & put 2 new coats of paint. I decided to add some beautiful blush pink & white peonies decals from Rocky Mountain Decals by the window. Love how easy it was to peel & stick on! You can also, take them off easily without any mess.
My original plan was to move Aleia’s teepee & floor mat from her room to the playroom so I can make room for her vanity & get a new rug but because she loves playing in her teepee with all her stuffies & I haven’t found the “perfect” rug. I decided to leave the teepee & floor mat, I made room for her vanity table by her closet. which I think worked out pretty well! I also decided to leave Aleia’s gold name sign on top of her bed & added some new decor pieces. Our favourite addition is this gorgeous pink Grande Sphere Knot Pillow from Juju + Jake.
Overall, I love how simply classy & glamorous Aleia’s room turned out, definitely fit for a little princess! Plus, she absolutely loves it too!!! Yay! Scroll down to see every details of A’s new room!
